From the country pubs to the majestic castles spotted around the landscape, Scotland boasts a turbulent history and a population whose good nature you will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Scotland has been able to maintain it’s own unique identity, and a Scottish parliament has even been returned to Edinburgh in 1999, even though it has technically been a part of Great Britain since 1707.
